Vardabe is a magical place, a small oasis of peace—somewhere you wouldn’t expect to find at the foot of the Latemar. Its meadows dotted with old alpine huts create the classic postcard landscape of a mountain holiday.
Take the gondola lift up to Gardonè. Follow the “Dragon Forest” trail and then the signs for “Le Prese.” Once you reach the forest road, turn right and walk downhill until you reach the wide meadow scattered with huts. Continue to the right along the path across the meadows to the edge of the larch forest, where you’ll join another forest road with a gentle climb leading back to Gardonè and the gondola. SEE THE MAP
